The Purey Cust

Plans for the Purey Cust

18 February 2011

York YO1 Property Group LLP, a Yorkshire based syndicate, is delighted to announce its acquisition of the former Purey Cust Nuffield Hospital site, which enjoys an unrivalled city centre location, only yards from York Minster.

Architects for the project, LHL Group, Yorkshire based property & construction consultants, have devised an exciting yet sympathetic scheme, creating 3 apartments and 9 townhouses within the existing Grade II Listed buildings, and plans were submitted for approval to York City Council on Tuesday 8th February 2011.

As well as giving new life to such fine historic buildings, which have been lying empty for some 4 years, the development should yield additional benefits for the wider York community. York-based Gem Construction Ltd, acknowledged specialists in working with listed buildings, have been awarded the contract to build out the development, and the Chairman of the Board of the Purey Cust Trustees, Nicholas McMahon Turner says that "funds from the sale of the site will enable the Trust to continue its valuable work in the medical field within the York area".
